O.C.E.A.N., Inc. agency staff met yesterday and provided a CSBG and Financial Empowerment Program Overview to the newly awarded 2025 subgrantees who are providing services spanning Ocean, Atlantic and Cape May (Jersey Shore) Counties. Throughout the two-hour meeting, Tamica Mickle, O.C.E.A.N., Inc. President/CEO discussed overall program requirements with the participants. Beth Hudson, agency CFO covered fiscal accountability and provided a sample program budget for each organization to take back to their locations to review and use as a guide.
During a Zoom segment, O.C.E.A.N., Inc. Consultant Rachell Diaz discussed data collection, performance measures, outcomes and service data using the web-based EmpowOR system. New community partners were provided with information needed to link to EmpowOR training by appointment and begin data entering. Ms. Diaz stressed to the audience why proper data collection in EmpowOR is important. Proper data ensures each program's impact is accurately reflected in reports allowing for consistent tracking across all funded partners.
At the conclusion of the program, the partners had an opportunity to participate in a Q&A session with O.C.E.A.N., Inc. staff.
