O.C.E.A.N., Inc. staff and families participated in the OceanFirst Trunk or Treat event held yesterday

O.C.E.A.N., Inc. would like to thank OceanFirst for inviting our agency staff and Head Start/Early Head Start families to the 2nd Annual Candy-Coated Trunk-OR-Treat event held last night. Once again, OceanFirst knocked it out of the park with their creative approach of hosting an exciting outreach event that allowed families and organizations to connect and build relationships.

The aim of the ‘Trunk or Treat’ event was two-fold; to provide a safe environment for trick-or-treaters and it involved the gathering of local non-profit organizations as families were introduced to programs and services available to them in the community. Community Partners decorated their trunks in true Halloween fashion serving tons of candy and as if that wasn’t enough, there were nine (9) additional candy/treat stations set up by OceanFirst throughout the parking lot.

Many O.C.E.A.N., Inc. Head Start/Early Head Start families throughout Ocean County and families from other organizations participated in the event sponsored by OceanFirst, Operation Warm Coat, Causeway CARes, Citta Foundation and the Grunin Foundation.

As indicted in the photos, O.C.E.A.N., Inc. staff were wearing costumes in the theme of Super Heros, handing out candy and providing outreach services to the families throughout the evening. O.C.E.A.N., Inc. Head Start and Early Head Start children received a free winter coat last night compliments of Operation Warm Coat. In total, 180 HS/EHS children and siblings received coats totaling $5,000 in value.
