With over 200 Seniors and 70 venders in attendance, OCEAN, Inc. is kicking off Community Action Month by providing outreach services at the Little Egg Harbor, NJ - 20th Annual Senior Resource Expo.

Many community organizations are assisting the seniors including OCEAN, Inc. Human Resources, Home Energy, and Direct Services. New to the OCEAN, Inc. line-up this year is Veterans Transportation Coordinator Carmine Czapla from the OCEAN, Inc. Veterans Transportation Program.

Ocean County is home to over 200,000 adults 65 years of age and older and has the 2nd largest senior population in the nation, the 1st largest being Florida. For older adults, expanding their social community is an essential part of healthy aging. Older adults who are active participants in their communities experience a variety of benefits; which may include reduced risk of depression, anxiety, heart disease, high blood pressure and improved cognitive function.

OCEAN, Inc. Home Energy Assistance staff are distributing and assisting with Home Energy applications at the event. Instructional Home Energy Videos in both English and Spanish are available on the OCEAN, Inc. Home Energy webpage on the agency website listed below to assist in the process.

Weatherization Assistance - The OCEAN, Inc. Weatherization Program is designed to address the needs of cost-burdened, low-income residents, unable to afford the added expense of repairing or replacing items in their home that if repaired or replaced, could help them reduce or eliminate high energy bills. Eligibility is based on income guidelines. To learn more about the OCEAN, Inc. Weatherization Program, visit the Weatherization webpage on the link listed below.

OCEAN, Inc. Human Resources staff are distributing OCEAN, Inc. 'Employment Opportunity Cards' during the event. If you would like to make a difference in the lives of the people we serve in the community, visit https://oceaninc.org/employment to apply and learn more about our job opportunities.
